Scott is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts (BA), with a major in Accounting in 1992 and his Masters of Accounting (M.Acc) in 1993. Scott attained his CA designation in 1994. After a number of years working with mid-sized firms in Ontario and short time with a public company in their tax department, Scott moved west and started as a Tax Manager with KMSS in 1998.

Scott joined the Partnership in 2003 and transitioned his practice from that of a tax specialty to a general practice, serving owner-managed entrepreneurial clients in a variety of industries, including land development, professionals and the hospitality sector.

In January 2019, although still maintaining a small client base, Scott assumed the role of Managing Partner, devoting a significant portion of his time to the day-to-day management and strategic vision of KMSS.

Away from the office, Scott can be found spending time with family in his mountain property in Canmore, enjoying a round of golf with one of his three children, or travelling.
