To our valued clients, business associates and friends,
Please join the Partners of Kenway Mack Slusarchuk Stewart in congratulating our founding Partner, Cal Stewart, on his retirement from practice effective December 31, 2020.
Cal’s contribution to Kenway Mack Slusarchuk Stewart LLP over the last 34 years has been significant and more worthy of a book, as opposed to a short article. Cal has led the Tax Group of KMSS throughout the Firm’s entire 34 year history, building and growing the group and leaving it in capable hands upon his retirement. With a focus on providing services to owner-managed entrepreneurial clients, tax has always been and continues to be a strong focus of the Firm, and Cal has furiously led that charge. Whether it was domestic corporate reorganizations or advising clients on doing business in other jurisdictions, Cal always had all bases covered. Cal has always been a strong advocate of our international affiliation, DFK and the value that it provides to many of our clients. He has been the editor of the DFK Canada Tax Newsletter for many years and has been an active member of the DFK International Tax Committee. KMSS will miss Cal and his many contributions to making the Firm what it is today.
There is a saying that “All good things must come to an end”. After 46 years in public practice, 34 of which have been as a Tax Partner with KMSS, my retirement brings to an end so many good things that I have enjoyed throughout my career. The good things – being able to work with so many valued clients, with our quality team at KMSS and with colleagues outside of KMSS; many of whom I can call friends, I will miss dearly. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with all of you and I wish everyone the very best as we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times that we are living in. I am truly looking forward to the next phase of my life.”
